“Advancing Sustainable Entrepreneurship to Achieve Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs): Current Trends and Future Directions”
🔍 Abstract:
In recent years, there has been a significant rise in the adoption of sustainable entrepreneurship which is recognized as a critical component in achieving the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) set for 2030. However, comprehensive reviews on this topic remain sparse to date. To address this gap, this study conducts a systematic review of 65 research articles published from 2018 to 2025, utilizing the TCCM framework along with the Scientific Procedures and Rationales for Systematic Literature Reviews (SPAR-4-SLR) protocol. The findings indicate that entrepreneurs have the opportunity to incorporate sustainability into their corporate strategies. Furthermore, 27 prospective research topics are identified through the TCCM framework, highlighting the necessity for practical insights into sustainable entrepreneurship and its influence on the attainment of SDGs. Notably, SDG 8 (Decent Work) and SDG 9 (Industry, Innovation) receive the most attention, while SDGs 1 (No Poverty), 2 (Zero Hunger), 3 (Good Health), 6 (Clean Water), 14 (Life Below Water), 15 (Life on Land), and 16 (Peace, Justice) remain underexplored. This study provides a foundation for scholars, enterprises, and policymakers to address critical gaps and contributes by providing a thematic direction for advancing sustainable entrepreneurship toward achieving the SDGs
