UQ-IITD Academy of Research (UQIDAR) has announced Admission to Joint PhD programmes for June-July 2024 session. Australia’s University of Queensland (UQ), a top 50 global university, and IIT Delhi, an Institution of Eminence, had come together and established the UQ-IITD Academy of Research (UQIDAR) to run a joint PhD programme to support scholars across diverse discipline areas to deliver global impact.
All successful UQIDAR PhD applicants will be offered a scholarship for the duration of their candidature of up to four years (full-time study) to allow them to focus on their research.
Key Dates: As per the admission notification, Eligible candidates should submit an Expression of Interest (EOI) by 03 October 2024.

Eligibility Conditions for Indian Students:
There are two PhD pathways to consider: i-students and q-students.
Indian nationals and international applicants (with citizenship other than Australia), will be considered for admission as i-students. i-students will spend their first year of study at IITD before completing one year (or more) at UQ. They would then complete the remainder of their studies at IIT Delhi.
Australian domestic students will be considered for admission as q-students. q-students will spend their first year of study at UQ before completing one year (or more) at IIT Delhi.

Fellowships:
Scholarships for i-students: Eligible i-students will be awarded a scholarship which includes: a monthly stipend of Rs 47000 in year 1 and Rs 52000 in years 3 and 4 at IITD; an annual stipend of AUD $35,000* when based at UQ (in year 2); a relocation grant of AUD $5,200 to support Delhi Brisbane-Delhi travel; and • overseas student health cover (single policy) for stay in Brisbane, Australia (in year 2).
